Honey
is primarily composed of fructose, glucose and
water. It contains small amounts of a multitude of
vitamins and minerals, including niacin, riboflavin,
pantothenic acid, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium,
manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.
It contains a variety of flavonoids and phenolic
acids which act as antioxidants. In addition its
composition makes it effective for treating minor
scrapes and burns and treating sore throats and
other bacterial infections.
